- Focus more on progress than failure
Invest more energy in their strengths than their weaknesses. If an employee needs to grow in a particular area of their work, use innovative ways to help them improve instead of hammering on their mistakes. - Acknowledge good results
Give credit where it is due. When an employee delivers good results, send a quick email to say “good job”, verbalise their good work in front of the team, or let them know you appreciate their contribution. - Prioritise team building
Make them feel like they are more than just fellow employees by fostering a sense of belonging and community. Create a space where they can get to know one another and learn how to work better together for the sake of the company’s growth, as well as their own. - Make transparency part of the culture
Allow your employees the space to be honest when they are unhappy about something at work. - Make room for improvement
Allow room for growth and learning from mistakes without constantly reminding them of it. Employees flourish when they feel secure in their career, and that their job safety is not constantly threatened when they make mistakes. If needed, provide opportunities for improvement through workshops and training.
